Txemi Cantera Award: Recognition of Excellence in Social Economy
The Txemi Cantera Award, organised by ASLE, pays tribute to outstanding people and entities for their contribution to promoting, consolidating and developing the social economy and worker ownership.

An award that acknowledges a Trajectory in service of the Social Economy and Worker Ownership.
The Txemi Cantera Award is geared towards:
- People and Leaders who actively promote the development of the social economy.
- Organisations and Entities that stand out for implementing projects with social and economic impact.
- Cooperatives, Worker-Owned Companies and Investee Companies that adopt an innovative, responsible and sustainable approach to business management.
Who was Txemi Cantera?
Txemi Cantera was a tireless promoter of the worker-owned company movement in the Basque Country. His vision was focused on the active participation of workers in the management of companies. In the words of Txemi Cantera himself:
“in commitment, solidarity, prioritising collective effort, coherence and striving to overcome the major social changes we each must live through”
Txemi Cantera 2024
The 34th edition of the Txemi Cantera Award once again aims to honour the persons, companies and entities that have left their mark on the realm of the social economy.
On 19 November, «SUTARGI S.A.L.» received the 2024 TXEMI CANTERA AWARD PREMIO TXEMI CANTERA for its work on creating inclusive work opportunities, promoting participation, solidarity and the values of the social economy.
